DEPTH PSYCHOLOGY

What is depth psychology?

I am convinced that all people are good deep down. Not in the sense that we have to be neat and correct all the time, but in the sense that our true nature is a radiant, loving openness. The daily reality is that we can feel far removed from this. However, we can get to know this essence step by step and integrate it into our lives. This is a path where you go on a journey of discovery with and within yourself and where you will increasingly coincide with who you really are. This sounds simple, but practice shows that this journey is a winding and often bumpy path.

As humans beings, we assume different roles in our lives. You are a son or daughter, possibly a loved one or parent of a child. You relate to friends, the people you work with and others around you. All these roles involve different aspects of your personality. We often identify with these roles, our individual qualities and with the self-concepts we hold, unintentionally leaving other dimensions of who we are underexposed.

In therapy we delve into the unconscious parts of our personality that have not yet come into the light. We encounter blockages and painful events in our lives. But ultimately, as we integrate these newly discovered aspects of ourselves into our consciousness, we will enrich and deepen our lives, allowing us to live more authentically and fully.

My therapeutic approach draws inspiration from the analytical psychology of Carl Jung, the humanistic psychology of Carl Rogers and the spiritual richness of Tibetan Buddhism. During the sessions we engage in meaningful dialogue, complemented by the utilization of  meditation practices, visualizations and dream analysis to facilitate this transformative journey.
